Café Teva – naturally réfreshing – New Restaurant opens in Owings Mills JCC
by AJ Bulua – Staff Reporter for JewishByte.info
After hearing of the recent opening/reopening of the café in the Owings Mills JCC, I decided to head on over and take a bite on behalf of JewishByte.info. As this was not a comprehensive review of the restaurant (we will leave that for Zagat) I quite simply ordered 2 slices of pizza. The service was quick and polite and the price per slice was on the cheaper side at $1.99 (comparing to Tov Pizza $2.26 and Mama Leah’s $2.25). I must say the taste had a unique homemade quality, however the slice was a little doughy. Overall the experience was very good and I would encourage everyone to try the wide variety of menu items that are available.
Aptly named Café Teva is striving for the perfect blend of quality, service and responsibility. Mr. Tkatch says, “Teva is the Hebrew word for ‘nature’ and we hope this will remind our patrons that we strive to use the freshest ingredients and minimize waste by using biodegradable utensils wherever possible. We also offer people the option of dining close to nature, outdoors either on our patio or at a picnic by the pool.”
Café Teva’s extensive menu includes both meat and dairy offerings. From salads and roasted vegetable paninis to macaroni & cheese or hamburgers & fries, the selection ranges from contemporary to traditional.
