Move your car or it will be towed, says Yeshivat Rambam
Jewishbyte Baltimore – Yeshivat Rambam will tow your car tomorrow morning, that is if it is parked in the school parking lot. Considering the probably horrendous situation at the parking lot today, Yeshivat Rambam issued the warning below to the owners of cars parked in the school parking lot. Despite the circumstances Executive Director Rabbi Lutch was thankfully able to find the humor in the issue.
In order to make more room for carpool traffic and faculty parking, we will need to remove all unauthorized vehicles from our parking lot tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. As background, approximately 20 cars have parked in our lot without permission (these cars are likely those of YR neighbors – neighbors with no connection to the school). These cars are taking up much of the little room that the snow has left us. To that end, a squad (or is the right word flock, school, or herd?) of tow trucks will be coming to 6300 tomorrow morning at 7:00 and will be towing these vehicles from our lot. While towing peoples’ cars is the last thing that I want to do, we really need the space to ensure smooth operations at our main campus.
(As an aside, so you don’t reach the conclusion that this is cruel and unusual punishment, we have repeatedly placed notices on the cars’ windows. Also, we have signs posted, throughout our lot, that explain the private and exclusive nature of our lot.)
So, bottom line: if you parked your car on our lot tonight, even with the most noble of intentions, I very strongly suggest you move it before 7:00 AM Tuesday morning. If, for whatever reason, you cannot move your car in time, please email our Facilities Manager, Yussi Shar, at shary@yrambam.org. Thank you!
Thank you so much, here’s to a five-day week,
Rabbi Lutch
Towing Manager
